8 Secret Superfoods for Weight Loss

To lose weight and keep it off in the future, we are often forced to give up our favorite foods, reduce portion sizes, and even starve from time to time. This doesn’t seem very motivating. But there is a silver lining to this.

We have collected several foods that can be useful and replace our beloved unhealthy snacks. We no longer need to go on rude diets and count every calorie in a stressful way!

The beloved cream-based dessert is, in fact, very high in fat. Fruit ice creams and sorbets are slightly different from regular ice creams, but they taste the same. They also contain much less fat and calories.

7. Gingerbread instead of chocolate

Unfortunately, milk chocolate is one of the worst foods for your body. So if you want something sweet, you should go for gingerbread, which is actually  very healthy

6. Tuna in its own juice instead of in oil

Tuna is an incredibly healthy fish and its protein content is almost equal to that of caviar. For the proteins to digest better, you should choose canned tuna in its own juice. It contains much less fat and many more vitamins (A, B12, D, E), amino acids and healthy substances (iodine, potassium, iron, phosphorus).

5. Popcorn instead of trail mix

Sounds crazy right? But plain or salty popcorn is better than trail mix, as it is usually fried in oil.

4. Fruit instead of cookies

Whenever you want to nibble on something, your hand is generally looking for something sweet. The main trick is to stop in time. Cookies are simply extra sugar that your body does not need. If you choose fruits, you will receive the necessary handful of vitamins and nutrients.

3. Oatmeal instead of store-bought muesli

Homemade oatmeal with fruits and nuts is a much healthier option than the muesli you buy at the supermarket. The latter contains flavor enhancers and sugar to make consumption more attractive. Due to these additives, they are very high in calories, unlike plain oatmeal.

2. Frozen potatoes instead of fresh potatoes

Both types of potatoes have almost identical content. The only difference is that if you choose frozen potatoes, you will be satisfied for longer. This is because frozen potatoes contain a healthier type of starch.

This must be obvious. Homemade fries are much healthier than store bought fries, as vegetables contain the vitamins our bodies need.

Bonus: ginger remedy

Did you know that you can use ginger, one of the most popular oriental spices, to get rid of excess weight? Ginger increases the thermic effect of food, making you feel full more quickly and therefore less likely to whip up another snack in a short time.

Visit a doctor to verify that you are not allergic to this spice and that you do not have a disease that prohibits the consumption of ginger. Then enjoy a hot ginger tea with honey or a lemon wedge.
