Sometimes it seems that expensive and high-quality beauty products do not affect our skin. There could be many reasons for this: an unreliable distributor, an expired product, or our personal intolerance to certain ingredients. And sometimes, we just don’t use a new beauty product or device correctly.
Herewere decided to find out which self-care mistakes we make most often. Turns out there are quite a few of them.
1. Applying patches right under the eyes
Eye patches are a real find for those who are not ready to spend a lot of time on skincare. They promise visibly hydrated and smooth skin in just 15 minutes. However, not everyone knows how to use this beauty product correctly.
Depending on your problem, patches can be applied to the inner corner of the eye with the narrow tip (so the wide tip flattens out crow’s feet) or the wide tip (to get rid of puffiness and wrinkles under the eyes). But it is categorically not recommended to apply them too close to the eyes: there is a high risk of causing redness and irritation.
2. Doing dry brushing the wrong way
Dry brushing is a simple and affordable body massage that can be done at home. Improves blood circulation and promotes lymphatic flow and drainage. Indeed, it creates conditions for the body’s natural detoxification and improves the condition of the skin. But for good results, dry brushing must be done correctly.
You shouldn’t just move a brush in random directions. As the lymph flows toward the heart, a massage in the opposite direction will not be effective. Also, you need to be careful about how much pressure you apply. Stiff bristles can cause unpleasant irritation rather than skin renewal.
3. Applying dry shampoo to dirty hair
We tend to think that we should use dry shampoo when our hair is already dirty. But it is much more effective if you apply it right after washing your hair. This way, the product will gradually absorb the secretions of the scalp glands, and the hair will stay clean for longer.
